Urban radio talent Tre Black, a veteran on-air personality whose career spanned multiple stations on both coasts, has died. Black died Sunday of a massive heart attack in Detroit. He was only 41. The radio jock spun records in several markets throughout his career, including New Orleans (KNOU), Los Angeles (KKBT “The Beat”) and New York (WWPR “Power 105.1”). He is perhaps best known for his nighttime run on Detroit’s WJLB, where he launched his now infamous “Black List.” When Black left Detroit for LA, he went on to work in several independent movies and on movie soundtracks in addition to his regular radio gigs. He was most recently a personality on Clear Channel’s “Power 105.1,” hosting Friday and Saturday nights. He also started his own company TreBlackRadioCheck – an online industry news and aircheck service. In addition to his radio work, Black worked with Don Cody Enterprises doing voiceovers for Moses Media Inc.

Chris Rock incurred the wrath of Gabourey Sidibe’s father Thursday when he took liberties with the actress’ backside during the third annual Essence Black Women in Hollywood event. The “Precious” star, who is nominated for a Best Actress Oscar at Sunday’s Academy Awards, got a shock when Rock gave her the two-handed booty grab as she made her way to the stage. The actress laughed and brushed it off with a playful slap, but Gabby’s daddy wasn’t so forgiving. She tells ET Online, “As I go up to get my award in a room where my dad is, because he’s one of my dates, Chris Rock grabbed my butt with both of his hands – and then I slapped him back. I didn’t think too much of it at all, but my dad was super pissed.” As for Rock copping a feel at her expense, Sidibe quips, “Some dudes gotta have it – it’s my own fault for being too damn fine.”

Saturday’s M.A.C cosmetics Oscar Luncheon for Mo’Nique at Phillippe Chow in L.A. was already the place to be on Saturday – with such legends as Ruby Dee on hand to honor the “Precious” actress. But then “Precious” producer Oprah Winfrey made an surprise appearance and took the party to another level. Attendees like Shondrella Avery and Jackee Harry “flipped out” and even “had tears in their eyes”. The ladies really couldn’t believe she was at the same party. “But ever the diva, Mo stole back the limelight when she insisted the entire Parisian-themed luncheon area be turned into a dance floor when the guests finished eating,” Gatecrasher reported. “She then requested that Marvin Gaye’s “What’s Going On” be turned on full blast.” A witness said: “Mo’Nique started a conga line that went throughout the restaurant and eventually led out to the valet parking area. The ladies, who were all decked in pearls and white gloves, were really getting down.” John Demsey, the chairman of the M.A.C AIDS Fund + President of Estee Lauder companies, announced a grant to Women Alive for $25,000 in Mo’Nique’s name.

A 2008 civil lawsuit filed against Florida rapper, Plies, is gaining some national attention as the plaintiffs made a move to include the rapper’s brother and his label, Big Gates Records in the suit. The lawsuit stems from a 2006 dispute in a Gainesville, Florida nightclub which erupted into gunfire leaving five clubgoers with gunshots wounds. The defendants claim that the shooting came from Plies and his entourage as they were warring with another rapper in the nightclub. Plies originally pleased no contest to illegal possession of a concealed weapon, and walked away free while his brother Ronell Levatte served three years in prison on the same charge. But the plaintiffs made the recent decision to amend the lawsuit based on claims that Plies has made references to the shooting in his lyrics to promote his image as gangsta rapper.

According to sources Babara has been telling her friends that Mo’Nique has been her most difficult interviewee yet. Mo’Nique hasn’t been a huge fan of Barbara’s after her visit to the View in 2006 where Barbara referred to Mo’Nique’s twins as “little creatures.” Now that she and Barbara are meeting again, Mo’Nique made it as difficult as possible for the TV reporter. She even refused Barbara to come into her home which is where Barbara usually conducts her celebrity one-on-one interviews. Between Mo’Nique’s high hair and makeup demands and denying Barbara the privilege to come into her home, Mo’Nique made it clear that she was not feeling Ms. Walters. The producer even picked up on it and asked Mo’Nique’s husband why she was being so rude. They both look constipated in the picture above. Or is it just me?

But Montell says after losing his TV and radio show, he just doesn’t have the money. Though current on his $18,700 a month child support payments, Montell’s 2 kids want him to leave all decisions regarding their upbringing to their mom and need $7,000 to pay their legal fees for the battle. But Montell, who showed up to the hearing in a chauffeur driven SUV, claims to be in a ‘perilous financial’ situation and just can’t do it. So if they want to take Montell to court, they’re just going to have to pay for it themselves.
