“Sean “Diddy” Combs is looking to push his empire into the sporting arena with the purchase of a British soccer team. Diddy is planning to make a bid for the South London Crystal Palace team, which went into bankruptcy January. Representatives for the mogul confirmed he has been shopping around for a team to purchase, and became interested in Crystal Palace because of the name. If the deal goes through, Diddy will be the first U.S. rapper to own a stake in a European soccer team. Jay-Z tried in 2005 to purchase a stake in London’s Arsenal Gunners as well as the Chelsea Football Club.
